Proxani Dairy Goat feed
Goats, known for their curious nature and picky tastes, are fascinating creatures with unique nutritional requirements. At Proxani, we understand the essence of feeding goats, especially dairy goats, and have developed the perfect solutions to meet their unique requirements.
Roughage and concentrates for goats
Unlike sheep or cows, goats are not true grazers. They only eat what they like. A palatable diet for goats is therefore essential. As with other ruminants, their rations should consist mainly of roughage. Goats have four stomachs, and high-fibre food is important for proper functioning of the rumen. What’s more, roughage stimulates rumination and salivation, which in turn prevents heartburn. Do make sure your food is clean and fresh. They will not eat any grass or hay that is stained or smells musty. As goats are energetic animals, they also need concentrate feed. They like to climb on everything and play a lot with their peers. Providing additional concentrate is especially essential for lambs and pregnant goats. During gestation, the extra nutrients help lambs grow, after which tasty pellets can be used to transition lambs from milk to solid food.
Feed for pregnant goats
Goat gestation periods can last up to 152 days. It is especially important to monitor goats during the second half of gestation. In cases where there are several lambs on the way, the uterus has to expand at the expense of the rumen. The goat is then less hungry and will eat less. Therefore, it is important to ensure adequate exercise, along with a high-energy goat feed. Extra concentrate feed promotes the growth of unborn lambs and can prevent ketosis. In winter, it is particularly important to provide concentrates for goats in addition to roughage. Winter feed should make up for the shortage of grass. As such, we recommend buying goat feed before winter sets in.
Rearing feed for lambs
This range contains a milk powder that is extra safe and ensures good intestinal flora due to the addition of essential oils. For a good start, you can opt for a rearing pellet. This goat pellet contains minerals, trace elements and is especially safe thanks to its extensive pattern of amino acids. For smooth intake, this rearing pellet is made to be extra tasty.
Production feed: Goat feed for dairy goats
The ingredients for this goat feed have been very carefully selected for excellent grain quality and palatability. By using the energy-rich starter pellet, you can increase the proportion of glucogenic energy for improved fertility and health. This newly developed production pellet increases persistence and maximises milk production efficiency.
Correction feed
This goat feed has a clear controlling effect over the decomposition rate of the protein fraction, and is available in both mix and pellet form. What’s more, Proxani also offers mineral mixes specifically tailored to the needs of your livestock.
