For the gestation period, that focus is on rest, restoring condition, increasing intake capacity and developing vital embryos. During the transition period, the focus is on stimulating calcium metabolism for a smooth farrowing process, as well as a very good start to milk production. Efforts are focused on colostrum and piglet vitality. The lactation period focuses on optimum milk yield and limiting loss off condition in your sows.
Having the right feed in the phase between weaning and breeding ensures a good breeding period and smooth insemination of your sows.
In the phase between weaning and breeding, it is crucial to ensure an insulin peak in your sows. Providing fast digestible starch and sugar in their flush feed will ensure that rapid and high insulin spike. This increase in insulin causes more follicles to mature, thereby contributing to a shorter ovulation period, increasing the uniformity of the litter.
It is important to provide this feed fresh twice a day.
Gestation period
Following the lactation period, during which your sows will suffer fat and possible muscle loss, it is important to restore their condition in the first weeks of gestation. Fertilis feeds are formulated to keep your sows feeling fit and taking proper rest during this phase.

It is a time when they are getting ready to farrow and start mobilising calcium from their body in order to experience a smooth birthing process, as well as to initiate milk production. It is also important that they are able to produce enough colostrum milk for their piglets. Fertilis transition feed contains the right nutrients to support a smooth farrowing process, maximise colostrum production and improve piglet vitality.

Lactation period
Providing good and balanced feed for your lactating sows ensures an optimal milk yield and therefore optimal development and condition of your piglets.
From the second to third day after farrowing, administering Fertilis lactation feed will guarantee high milk production, resulting in high overall litter weights.
